The exhibit Continuing the Legacy: Celebrating 60 Years of Debutante Cotillions opens with a presentation by members of The Links, Inc. Chicago Chapter on Sunday, March 8 at Carter G. Woodson Regional Library. The exhibit runs through June 30.
Founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, The Links, Inc. is a national women’s service organization based on the ideals of combining friendship and community service. Founded in 1950, the Chicago Chapter places a special emphasis on volunteer service in the fields of youth services, international trends, health services and promoting African American art.
Continuing the Legacy: Celebrating 60 Years of Debutante Cotillions examines the Chicago Chapter’s organizational history, philanthropy and volunteer services, and 60 years of debutante cotillions. Historical documents, photographs and debutante clothing will be on display.
